About Indian Museum
Founded in 1814, the Indian Museum is the ninth oldest museum in the world and the largest in India. It houses rare collections of antiques, armour, ornaments, fossils, skeletons, Mughal paintings, and an Egyptian mummy.
Known as 'Jadughar' (House of Magic) by locals, its 35 galleries are divided into six main sections: Art, Archaeology, Anthropology, Geology, Zoology, and Botany.
